Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen. A Great Game

Hi all,

Yet again it’s been a while since my last post, been busy doing lots of stuff but I have managed to still get some game time in. My latest game is Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen. This game is quite huge and it has a little of Skyrim, assassins creed type games, yet it’s got its own uniqueness about it. Very open world, the story can be completed fairly quickly if that is all you do but if you decide, like me, to explore and do virtually every quest you will be on it for quite a while.

The story isn’t anything too special but there are a great many attributes that make this game very addictive. You have the main quest, sub-quests or notice board quests, then you have side quests which are not from the notice boards but from individuals in the many different towns. You have many vocations you can choose from, well actually three main vocations with a sort of sub vocation. An example is, if you choose to be a Strider, like me, you can then choose to be an Assassin, or if you choose Mage, you can then become a Mage Archer etc..very good fun. There are also a multitude of weapon types and variations which can be upgraded dramatically.

I’ve played through the storyline about 6 times, mainly to get everything I didn’t get on past playthrough’s and also to get my levels up high enough to enter the depths of Bitterblack Isle, which is just a crazy place with unique monsters and unique weapons and armor. The creators mentioned you may not want to attempt BitterBlack Isle until you are at least level 50. Personally, I would recommend strongly that you are closer to level 100. I go down there now to get some upgrades and still find it a challenge to go all the way to the bottom levels and I’m at level 130, I don’t know what the cap is but I’m guessing it’s around 200.

This game is free if your a PlayStation plus member and is definitely worth it if you are a fan of games like Elder Scrolls. Happy gaming.
