I managed to get hold of a copy of Mafia II and it turns out to be a great game, there are so many other games it reminds me of. It’s a little bit GTA, the old music reminds me of the Bioshock games, and with a little bit of stealth and lockpicking skills it reminds me of a few others all rolled into one. It’s a pretty cool storyline and you get a trophy for each chapter completed, you can steal and upgrade cars, buy suits, and other outfits.
There are a few other challenges which are not story-related, like finding all the wanted posters, and all the magazines as well as you can make extra money by selling stolen cars to a couple of people, it’s not a have to but it’s good fun. I think the platinum trophy for this game will be fairly easy to get, I’m playing it on easy at the moment but I don’t see many sections too hard to complete on hard mode. If your thinking of trying this one, don’t think anymore, get it. At the very least you should rent it, it’s a lot of fun but I think the replay value will go down once you’ve played it once or twice so it’s probably more of a rental than a buy.
