Skyrim or The Last of Us?

Hi all,

Now I know Skyrim is fairly old now in terms of games but I just got the Hearthfire download where you can adopt a child and buy a plot of land and build your own house, and yes it all sounds familiar as you could already buy your own house in Skyrim. This is different though and it’s also probably the best value for money for download content I’ve ever come across. You can acquire up to three new pieces of land in which you can build on. The big difference is the size of these houses and what you can have in them.

You start by building just a small cottage, and you can keep it like that if you wish, I don’t think anyone is going to stop at a small cottage though. If you decide (like me) to carry on building then the small cottage becomes the entrance hall to a much bigger place. The next section is huge, then you can add bedrooms, armory, library, enchanting tower, or even a trophy room. Now the trophy room is just great, you can put all the big stuff in there, like a full-grown bear, dragons head, full-size troll, Spriggon and much more, it’s just endless.

Anyway, after creating my first house, fully furnished with the armory, smithy, garden, pet pen and even a horse and cart with the driver, bard and a steward, and this is on top of adopting a child and having my wife and followers there too, I decided that you really don’t need any of the houses that were on offer before. I remember having to go all the way to the top of Whiterun to enchant stuff, then back down to the beginning for doing some Alchemy or smithing, now it’s all under one roof, I even have a smelter. How cool is that?  Moreover, I messed around with that house for more than six hours yesterday, it’s ridiculously addictive fun.

So having got really caught up in Skyrim again I’ve neglected to play full time on The Last of Us which I intended to do. All I’ve managed to play so far is the intro and maybe a small section of the first chapter. I will get to play it some more as it does look and feel like a great game but for now, I can’t get enough of Skyrim. There is also the newish Skyrim: Legendary game on sale now which includes all the download content Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and the other one which I can’t remember right now, sure someone will let me know what it was called.

Ok, that’s about it for now, don’t forget to check out the last post for ordering the PS 4 which is alright out on the market right now. Happy gaming.
